IT is,
as far as I know,
not LSD, the chemical,
which is at issue anymore
nowadays

THE point is
that we have here an experience,
a perception,
which is as frightening to those concerned with preserving the status quo,
as it is illuminating-liberating to those who are ready
to look beyond.
-
IF LSD
produces genetic damage {or 'psychosis'},
then other,
safer methods of changing consciousness will be found,
and this particular substance relegated to use mainly
in geriatrics.

THE explosive spread
of direct and indirect effects of psychedelics in 'our' culture,
the almost total conquest of the media by the consciousness-revolution
{witness/transformation & visibility},
all point towards an era of unprecedented and unpredictable changes in the minds of men during the coming decades
{and ages!}?

IN recent times,
quite a number of exploratory investigations have been reported
involving the administration of psychedelic agents to different people suffering from rather severe forms of psychological disturbance.
As either therapeutic or experimental undertakings,
these 'studies' are still extremely fragmentary and suffer gross shortcomimgs.

AS
a case in point,
wide diversity along major dimensions known to influence drug response
and treatment effectiveness characterize this work.
These include the exact agent employed,
dosage level,
number and frequency of administrations,
therapist expectations and previous experience with psychedelic drugs,
and finally the setting and circumstances surrounding
the drug-induced
state.

WITH
regard to patient characteristics,
those patients 'treated'
were demographically varied and covered a very broad age range.
More importantly, the samples were markedly heterogeneous with respect to the nature, severity, and duration of modal symptoms.
The major experimental shortcomings included small or massive samples,
subjective and vague criteria of drug effects and improvement,
and inadequate
follow-up.

DESPITE
their large diversity and severe limitations,
these seminal explorations in an extremely complex area of research still
seem worthy of wider reportage and more serious attention than they have hitherto received.

ALMOST
without exception,
these varied reports have appeared in obscure publications or remain as yet unpublished; a more significant reason for their relative neglect has been the polarized controversy surrounding psychedelic agents at large
which has all but completely curtailed publicly-sanctioned
research.

IN myDiLJ~critiques
of the use of psychedelics with disturbed and/or healthy people,
our various studies conducted thus far will be given a chance to be rather
comprehensively reviewed and integrated given time & virtual 'space'.
As usual particular attention will be given to their similarities AND
differences along known relevant dimensions
in order to detect communalities
and possible reasons for
inconsistent findings.

WHILE some attempt
will be made to resolve seemingly contradictory results,
the heuristic value of these entries will be emphasized rather than
its conclusiveness, and hopefully, the tentative conclusions
derived from these initial efforts will point the way
for more definitive studies into the therapeutic
efficacy of psychedelic agents with mental
and other temporary
disorders.

OURS
is a multi-dimensional
existence which is usually subjected to one-dimensional social limitation.
The early conditioning of the average child is followed by a life of mental,
physical and social changes that DO end sooner or later in total
restriction.

MANKIND
has been searching for escape from the dull or fucked experiences
that usually dominate people's life & death during their short
span of life.

LSD-25 {a.o.} appears
to offer a useful adjunct to 'psychotherapy' by myDiLJ-stories
because of its positive effect in the areas described during the past year which were {and still are} closely related to the process
of psychotherapy.
