Een van de allermerkwaardigste neigingen van mensen is zelfdoding, doodslag, moord & martelaarschap!

Waarom doden sommige mensen zichzelf en/of elkaar uit allerlei verschillende motieven & overwegingen?

De geschiedenis van elk land is eeuwenlang gevuld met moordenaars, martelaars, daders & slachtoffers!!

Some it might be said reenact ancient contentions: already in antiquity, various religious groups had con-
tended over the merit of their respective martyrdoms. For instance, the fact of martyrdom was used as a demonstration of religious truth. As others have phrased it, martyrs "constitute strong 'apologies' for the faith to pagan audiences." The martyrs also served as counters for internal "apologies" within Christianity between groups as for instance in Montanist claims that the great number of Montanist martyrs demon-strated that the divine power of the living prophetic spirit resides in Montanism. This claim had to be refu-ted by other Christians, as we find in Eusebius's Ecclesiastical History:
I will also quote short passages in which he [the 'Anonymous'] thus replies to those who were boasting that they too had many martyrs in their ranks.
"So then, when worsted in all their arguments they are at a loss, they endeavour to take refuge in the martyrs saying that they have many martyrs & that this is a reliable proof of the power of that which is called among them the prophetical spirit.
But this, as it appears, proves to be absolutely untrue!

For it is a fact that some of the other heresies have immense numbers of martyrs, yet surely we shall not for this reason give them our assent, nor acknowledge that they possess the truth. To take them first, those called Marcionites from the heresy of Marcion say that they have immense numbers
of martyrs of Christ, but as regards Christ himself they do not truly acknowledge him!"
And shortly afterwards he goes on to say:
"It is doubtless for this reason that, whenever those called from the Church to martyrdom for the true faith meet with any so-called martyrs from the heresy of the Phrygians [Montanism], they sever themselves from them & are perfected, without holding communion with them, for they do not wish to assent to the spirit [that spoke] through Montanus and the women"

"Now on one and the same pyre was yoked with him a certain person of the Marcionite error, who called himself a bishop. And he gave himself up to this as though forsooth in his zeal for righteous-ness ~ but he was not in the knowledge of the truth ~
and suffered martyrdom by fire
along with this martyr of God!"

Interestingly, the short (Greek) recension of the same text is slightly less grudging
in tone:
"With Peter too, Asclepius (accounted a bishop of the Marcionite error), in his zeal, as he thought, for piety but not that piety which is according to knowledge nevertheless departed this life on the one and self-same pyre!"

'T BLIJFT HOE DAN OOK 'N ONVERKLAARBAAR MYSTERIE, NU MEER DAN OOIT TEVOREN: WAAROM WILLEN MENSEN NU ZICHZELF & ANDEREN OPOFFEREN VOOR 'T ENE OF ANDERE 'GOEDE DOEL' KOSTE WAT 'T KOST?

In alle landen, 't ene land zo nu en dan wat meer als 't andere, kunnen we mensen tegenkomen die al
of niet in opdracht van anderen zich voorbereiden op het doden [elimineren, buiten gevecht stellen e.d.] van hun 'vijanden' binnen- & buitenslands. In veel landen heersen ook nu nog steeds allerlei vormen van militaire dienstplicht [of 'vrijwilligerslegers'] waarin mannen & vrouwen [meestal rond de 20 jaar, maar ook
veel jonger of ouder] zich beschikbaar stellen om te doden & te sterven voor "God & Vaderland", vrijheid &
rechtvaardigheid, koningen, keizers, admi-/generalen, presidenten, verzetsleiders & religieuze symbolen!!

Toen ik de Nederlandse militaire dienstplicht weigerde voor 't midden van de jaren zestig van de vorige eeuw moest ik voor 'n commissie van 'wijze oudere heren' komen om uit te leggen 'waarom' & dan
twee jaar vervangende krijgsdienst verrichten in de Drentse bossen [bladeren harken tegen de wind in] & toen ik dat ook niet wilde werd ik opgesloten in poltiecellen, huizen van bewaring & gevangenissen: dat in
de oorlog ['n half jaar voor mijn geboorte] mijn vader der Duitse soldaten was doodgeschoten & dat hij in
'42 in 'n strafkamp werd gezet met alle gevolgen vandien, had volgens die hoge heren er helemaal niets mee te maken! Iets dergelijks moest ook Uri Davis in Israel ondergaan & talloze jonge jongens in allerlei landen overal op aarde. Ondertussen gaan de zelfmoordenaars, doodslagers, moordenaars & terroristen
['legaal & illegaal'] overal 'rustig' door met voorbereiding tot militaire acties te land, ter zee & i/d lucht ...

Bepaalde oeroude taboes beheersen blijkbaar vele grijze [groene/gele/rode/bruine/zwarte & blauwe] mas-sa's met zwartwit denkbeelden, extreem fanatieke & uiterst
'rationele overwegingen' aangaande
de dood en
het verderf
...
