(DB) The Blasphemy of the Son of Man? G d = human!

The reasons that many Jews came to believe that Yeshua was divine was because they were already expecting that the Messiah/Christ would be a g d-man: this expectation was part & parcel of Jewish tradition. The Jews had learned this by careful reading of the Book of Dani'el & understanding its visions & revelations as a prophecy of what would happen at the end of time. In that book, as we have seen several times before, the young divine figure is given sovereignty & made ruler of the world forever. I (DB) want to show that Yeshu saw himself as the divine Son of Man, & I will do so by explaining a couple of difficult passages in the second chapter of the Gospel of Mark.

The Son of Man has been afforded glory, sovereignty, & dominion over all the sublunary world, as we saw in Daniel 7: "The kingship & dominion & greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, & all dominions shall serve & obey them." While this verse comes from an interretative frame-work within the chapter that seeks to demythologize the narrative of the Son of Man, such effort could not withstand the power of the verses earlier in the chapter in which the divinity of the Son of Man is so clearly marked. "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, & let them rule over all the earth. So g d created mankind in his own image, in the image of g d she created them: female & male she created them. In the beginning g d created the heavens & the earth according to mankind after the earth was first formless & empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, & the spirit of g d was hovering over the waters. When we said, 'Let there be light,' there was light. We (g d) saw that the light was 'go(o)d', & thus we separated light from darkness: we (g d) called the light 'day' & the darkness we/g d called 'night'. Thus the heavens & the earth were completed in all their vast array: by the seventh day g d had finished the work she had been doing, so on the seventh day she rested from all her work. Thus g d, female & male, created all there is in man- kind's eyes, we were free to eat from any tree in the garden where we worked to take care of it including the tree of knowledge of good & evil, female & male being together to gather & call everything by it's name: all this is bone of my bones & flesh of my flesh for ever & ever even after we die! When we eat & drink our ears & eyes will be opened, being like g d, female & male, knowing good & evil inside us according to genesis." Mark says: "The children of women have authority on earth to forgive sins!" "G d", 'female & male are One.' ~
