Broken hearts and distorted memories

The fair in which my friend met that lad that she likes had it's last day today. We made the half an hour walk from where to live so that she could see him for one last time and afterwards, I think she really wished she hadn't... All the time that these types of things have been here, my dad has constantly been warning the two of us what these people can be like but I always saw it differently. Yes, you can believe the usual stereotype of whatever you've been brought up to believe, but you also have to think further. Of all the people who live like that, how can they all be same? Are some of them generally nice people? Before now, I've never had any reason to think otherwise.

Anyway, he seemed to just ignore her all day. He sent her the odd text saying nice things about her but when she actually got there, there was nothing. He seemed to get a kick out of flirting with other girls and then blaming his lack of affection towards her on his boss. Surely if that was the case, he wouldn't have bothered these past few days? She seemed pretty much heartbroken bless her but I guess that's how we learn lessons in life. It makes me a bit wary of C and what his motives might be if I do talk to him but at the end of the day, I'm one of those people who would rather get hurt and know what would have happened than not know and forever be wondering, "what if?" My feelings seem to be forever getting deeper about him every day even though we're apart and I'll next see him in July. I believe in fate and the idea that everything happens for a reason, so surely it must all mean something. I was meant to feel like this and however he reacts was supposed to have been that way whether it was to surprise and please me or whether it was to teach me a lesson in life. I hope it's the first.
