Ancient & MODERN MALTA?
DURING THE LAST ICE~AGE OUR MALTA WAS A HIGH MOUNTAIN JOINED TO ITALY BY LAND ~~~
However when the Ice Age ended about 10.000 years ago our sea level rose & Malta became a group of islands! And when about 5200 BCE our stone age farmers arrived also @ Malta from Sicily they began of course to farm this soil too? Our earliest farmers in Malta made simple tools of stone & wood: they also made pottery; despite these primitive tools our Stone Age Farmers created an advanced society: from about 3600 to about 2500 BCE they built great temples on Malta including those ar TARXIEN & carved the HYPOGEUM, a series of underground chambers, out of rock!

The temple building culture in Malta ended about 2500 BCE: we don't know why? On the other hand the Maltese began to use bronze tools & weapons! It is not clear íf a 'new race' migrated to Malta at that time òr ìf the stone age farmers learned to use bronze from the other peoples around the Mediterranean? From about 800 BCE also the Phoenicians sailed to Malta: they were already a highly civilized people from what now is called LEVANON! They were great sailors & traders & they gave Malta ìts náme: they called it MALET, which means SHELTER or HAVEN?!

About 480 BCE the Phoenicians founded also a city called Carthage on the north coast of Africa & from about 400 BCE these Carthagini-ans ruled Malta! They ruled for about 250 years until 218 when the ROMANS conquered Malta! It flourished under Roman Rule & was known for honey & for sailcloth! Meanwhile also Sjapochapeau SP, our apostle Sja'ul Paul was shipwrecked on Malta while he was also sailing to Rome: there he converted @ Malta PUBLIUS, the Roman ruler to HÌS brand of "CHRISTIANITY" & gradually the rest of those Maltese followed: by the 3rd century AD/CE already móst of the Maltese were already "Christians".
