28081/8 passoverpesach: 15-21st Nisan Maart/April!

ORIGINALLY
IT USED TO BE
A 'harvest'~Festival,
When the Judean farmers
used to make a pilgrimage to
the Temple in Yerushalayim Bringing their barley offerings
to be used for the upkeep of the Temple and its officers, ànd
For the distribution to rising masses of the poor & needy! Being a springtime festival they also
recalled that it was in the spring that these enslavened Israelites @ Aegypt were redeemed from slavery,
and consequently they would thus also bring a Pesachlamb (reminiscent of the lamb which was offered prior
to the Israelites' departure) to be offered as a sacrifice in the Temple? Part of it would be burnt on the altar and
the remainder would be roasted & eaten on the first evening of Passover together with bitter herbs & unleavened
bread as they sat & chatted in their tribal family groups. After the Destruction of the Temple and the Dispersal of
the Jewish people, with their consequent estrangement from agricultural life, the Harvest & Temple associations
became thus secondary and the emphasis and observance of Thìs Festival were changed! Jews assembled
in their homes & naturally turned their minds to the Message of "FREEDEOM" with memories
of the historical Bondage @ Egypt & the Redemption which followed, Ànd of course
its relevance to the contemporary situation and their hopes & fears
they were nursing amongst them for "all our
Future REDEMPTION"!
